Job summary

Pengiklan Anonim is seeking an experienced Chief Mechanic to lead and optimize our mechanical maintenance operations. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and overseeing maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, availability, safety, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, 8+ years of leadership experience, fluent English, and a proven ability to read blueprints, manage a team, and drive continuous improvement on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related).
• 8 years of experience as Chief Mechanic or equivalent.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written).
• Willing to work in Jember, East Java.
• Proficient in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Able to read blueprints and diagrams.
• Proven leadership of maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect machines, equipment, and systems to identify issues.
• Troubleshoot to smooth production processes.
• Ensure maintenance work follows procedures.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Perform duties as assigned by Management.
• Conduct periodic quality checks and initiate repairs.
• Maintain equipment and spare parts inventories.
• Assist in developing the maintenance department budget.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Chief Mechanic to join our existing team, leading and optimizing our mechanical maintenance operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing machine maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, availability, safety, and operational efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset to minimize equipment downtime, improve maintenance performance, and develop a high-performing maintenance team.

Main Duties

• Inspecting machines, equipment and systems to identify any issues
• Resolve troubleshooting to create smoothness in the production process
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out properly and in accordance with established procedures
• Developing and implementing preventive maintenance procedures to reduce downtime that occurs due to equipment failure and unplanned breakdowns
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management
• Conducting periodic quality checks on equipment to ensure everything is up to standard andinitiate repair directly
• Maintaining the inventory records for equipment, supplies, and spare parts
• Helping develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department

Qualifications

• Minimum S1/Bachelor’s Degree, Preferably in Mechanical Engineering or related
• 8 Years experience in Chief Mechanic or equivalent
• Fluent in English, both Verbal and written
• Willing to work in Jember, Jawa Timur
• In-depth knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system
• Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques
• Effective problem-solving abilities
• Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks
• Must be able to read blueprints and diagrams
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job which include working in hot orconfined spaces
• Proven experience in leading and managing a maintenance team
• Ability to work under pressure and motivate others to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work in a logical systematic way
• Willing to spend approximately 90% of working time on the production floor and 10% in the office
