Job summary

Waruna Shipping Group is seeking a Buyer Officer to support vessel and shipyard procurement of marine spare parts, equipment, and services. The role requires meticulous analysis of PRs, vendor sourcing, and effective negotiations to secure favorable terms.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in purchasing or related fields, preferably in marine technical goods, and are fluent in English with strong coordination and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in any discipline required.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Purchasing/Procurement/Import or Supply Chain.
• Candidates with marine technical goods experience preferred.
• Strong willingness to learn, negotiation-oriented, and detail‑driven.
• Proficient in English; Hokkien/Mandarin advantageous.
• Experience using the Ascend system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Purchase Requests (PR) from vessels or operations for validity and priority.
• Review vessel purchase history to avoid duplicates and stale stock.
• Source vendors, makers, or authorized distributors for marine parts and services.
