Job summary

PT Medco Geothermal Sarulla (MGS) seeks qualified professionals for maintenance roles at its Tarutung facility in North Sumatera. The successful candidates will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, and automation systems to ensure safe and reliable plant operation.

Key qualifications include a D3 in Electrical/Instrumentation engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in power plants or geothermal

Qualifications

• Diploma (D3) in Electrical or Instrumentation engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in power plant, geothermal, oil & gas, or process industry preferred.
• Hands-on maintenance of instrumentation systems.
• Able to read P&ID, SLD, loop diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems to ensure safe and reliable plant operation.
• Inspect, test, calibrate, troubleshoot and repair electrical, instrumentation, PLC, SCADA and communication systems.
• Perform maintenance and monitoring of generators, excitation systems, transformers, protection relays and 150 kV switchyard equipment.
• Execute maintenance work orders in accordance with CMMS schedules, maintenance procedures and OEM recommendations.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report abnormalities that may affect plant safety, reliability or availability.
• Support startup, shutdown, commissioning, testing and recommissioning activities of plant equipment and systems.
• Perform functional testing of control systems, protection systems, interlocks and safety devices to ensure proper operation.
• Participate in equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Monitor and verify contractor and vendor activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards and HSE requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records, calibration documentation, technical reports and equipment history data.
• Comply with all company HSE requirements, including Permit to Work (PTW), Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and other safety procedures.
• Perform emergency call-out duties and provide technical support during equipment failures or plant disturbances.
• Maintain tools, testing equipment and calibration instruments in good working condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the E&I Supervisor or Maintenance Management.

Job Qualification :

• Minimum Diploma (D3) in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in power plant, geothermal, oil & gas, or process industry is preferred.
• Hands-on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of instrumentation systems.
• Good knowledge of instrument calibration, control valves, transmitters, PLC, SCADA, and DCS.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in Electrical & Instrumentation systems.
• Able to read and understand P&ID, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), loop diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
• Familiar with CMMS for maintenance planning, execution, and documentation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude and good command of English.
• Experience in Operation & Maintenance (O&M) within geothermal or power plant environments will be considered an advantage and given priority.
