Job summary

Medco Power Indonesia seeks an experienced HSESS Manager to oversee Environmental, Health & Safety standards across a North Sulawesi facility. You will ensure regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement, and strengthen safety culture through robust programs and leadership across departments.

Requires a strong EHS background, AK3 Umum and related certifications, plus extensive power plant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, OH&S Engineering, or Public Health.
• Minimum 3 years experience managing EHS functions.
• Minimum 10 years experience in power plants.
• AK3 Umum, MPPA & MPPU, GADA UTAMA (Security Management), Class A Fire Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all operations comply with the EHS Management System and are conducted safely and environmentally friendly.
• Develop and implement EHS codes and practices, accident and fire prevention technologies, and emergency response programs.
• Establish and maintain relationships with local authorities, regulators, and key external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with line management to drive strong HSESS performance and deliver EHS programs for each department.
• Manage the implementation of the EHS Management System, including incident investigations and hazard assessments.
• Coordinate with Environmental, Health, and Safety regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
• Evaluate mandatory training needs and coordinate with each department for planning and execution.
• Develop training programs covering induction, refreshers, EHS competencies, emergency response, and statutory requirements.
• Prepare and implement EHS procedures, work instructions, and ensure the execution of the approved EHS Management Plan.
• Lead and monitor EHS inspections and performance monitoring, including follow-up actions.
• Promote and ensure the implementation of safety and environmental policies and procedures across the site.

About the Role

The HSESS Manager is responsible for ensuring all operational activities are conducted safely, healthily, and in an environmentally responsible manner. This role oversees the implementation of the company’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards, ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, strengthens safety culture, and leads continuous improvement across the facility.

• Proficient in English (both written and spoken).
• Strong understanding of international EHS standards and Indonesian government regulations.
• Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and communication skills.

Work Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience managing EHS functions.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in power plant

Strong leadership, communication, analytical thinking, compliance management, and reporting. Must demonstrate discipline, integrity, and the ability to influence safety culture across the organization.

Other Requirements:

Willing to be stationed on-site in remote PLTU operating area. (NO ROSTER)
