Job summary

Traveloka is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to design, build, and own the multi-service backend powering Customer Care across its global markets. You will shape system architecture, define API contracts, and drive engineering excellence at scale.

You will mentor junior to mid-level engineers, lead on-call reliability, and influence the roadmap through architectural proposals. You will also steer the use of AI tools to accelerate delivery while managing risk, in a fast-paced travel-tech

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with hands-on system design and operations.
• Designed a multi-service system from scratch and maintained production readiness.
• Owns system-level tradeoffs (consistency, latency, cost) and API contracts.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship multi-service systems for Customer Care, owning system-level consistency, latency, and cost tradeoffs.
• Decompose ambiguous product problems into service architecture and API contracts.
• Set technical bar through rigorous review and shape APIs for other teams.
