Job summary

Kompas Gramedia - KG Media is seeking a Junior System Engineer for Corporate IT&IS to help manage and monitor our on-premises and cloud infrastructure across data centers and cloud platforms.

You will install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems and tools, ensure high availability, and collaborate with developers in an agile environment to optimize performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls).
• Ability to deploy, manage, operate scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
• Proven experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux environments.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, Proxmox) and containerization.
• Experience with monitoring systems.
• Experience with DNS Servers and Mail Servers.
• Experience with backup solutions (VEEAM).
• Solid networking knowledge (OSI layers, TCP/IP).
• Familiar with Azure and AWS technologies.
• Familiar with Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix.
• Familiar with web servers (Apache, Nginx).
• Experience with data center environments.

Responsibilities

• Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure either on-premises or cloud.

• Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
• Planning, design and development of infrastructure on- premises or cloud.
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
• Monitor and test application performance for bottlenecks and work with developers to fix.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
• Provide 2nd level support.
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
• Collaborate with developers and product owner using agile project management.
• Maintain server infrastructure in Data centre.
