Job summary

SCHOTT Batam, Indonesia seeks an IT Support/Systems Administrator to install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and networks. You will monitor IT systems for optimal performance and reliability, diagnose issues, and provide frontline support to employees via phone, email, or onsite.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in IT, solid Windows/Linux knowledge, networking skills, and familiarity with Microsoft 365 and AD.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or network engineering.
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN).
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong ownership and accountability.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, networks, and peripherals.
Monitor and maintain IT systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
Provide technical support to employees through phone, email, or onsite assistance.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Perform system upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
Ensure the security of IT systems by implementing security policies, antivirus solutions, and software updates.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Maintain documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement, software licensing, and technical support.
Support the implementation of new technologies and IT projects.
Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and industry best practices.
Experience in Smart Manufacturing / Industry 4.0 environments is a plus.
Experience with AI technologies and solutions would be an advantage.
