Job summary

SCHOTT is seeking a proactive IT Engineer to manage, maintain, and support our IT infrastructure in Batam. The role covers hardware/software installation, system monitoring, and providing user support to ensure reliable operations.

You will handle security, backups, and disaster recovery, while collaborating with global teams to align IT standards and practices. A strong Unix/Linux and Windows background is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of IT support, system admin, or network engineering experience.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/WAN.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, networks, and peripherals.
• Monitor and maintain IT systems for performance and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Provide technical support to employees by phone, email, or onsite.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Perform system upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Ensure security through policies, antivirus, and updates.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity.
• Maintain documentation of IT systems and procedures.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement, licensing, support.
