Job summary

Nabors in Indonesia is seeking an Engineer I to perform maintenance and support for a subset of the IT infrastructure, including routers, switches, servers, CCTV, and wireless devices. The role involves installations, troubleshooting, and documentation at onsite locations.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in engineering roles or 5+ years in IT support, with preference for oil & gas or industrial environments and remote-site experience. English communication is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma (3) or Bachelor (S1) in Information Technologies or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years experience in IT Support, IT Helpdesk or Technical Support.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Mining, Industrial, or Engineering environments is highly preferred.
• Experience working in remote/site locations such as drilling rigs or industrial sites is advantageous.
• Good command of English, both written and verbal, is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support a subset of technical infrastructure (routers, edge routers, workgroup switches, towers, wireless APs, single servers).
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain IT equipment and network components.
• Prepare and maintain IT documentation, network diagrams, inventories and troubleshooting reports.
• Coordinate with Operations, vendors, and third‑party service providers.
• Escalate issues to higher engineer levels as needed.

Job description

The Engineer I position performs technology engineering work that is focused on the maintenance and support for a subset of the technical infrastructure (e.g., router, edge router, workgroup switch, tower site, wireless access point, single server, single system, routine database creation). Escalates issues as needed to the next level of engineer job progression.

• 2 to 4 years of relevant functional experience in engineer role or equivalent
• Basic understanding of the principles of IT infrastructure support, and working knowledge in one or two technology areas

Job Qualification

Technical Skill.

• Good Knowledge of Windows OS , Microsoft Office/Office 365, Hardware , software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS,VLAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic Network Troubleshooting .
• Familiar with configuration and troubleshooting of Switches, router , firewall and wireless access.
• Experience supporting server, Network Equipment , Printer, and other IT Peripherals .
• Familiar with CCTV System, NVR/DVR, IP cameras, and basic surveillance network troubleshooting .
• Understanding of structure cabling, Fiber Optic, Ethernet, and Network Infrastructure is an advantage.
• Able to perform IT Equipment installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, replacement, and asset management.
• Able to prepare and maintenance IT documentations, network diagram, equipment inventory, configuration record, and troubleshooting reports.
• Ability to coordinate with Operation , Vendor, and third-party service providers.
• AutoCAD knowledge or experience is an added advantage .
