Job summary

Rize is building climate-smart agricultural infrastructure in Indonesia, with a legal function that sits at the core of growth. We seek a Senior In-House Counsel to own disputes, debt recovery, and regulatory matters, reporting to Head of Legal, and coordinating with commercial and finance teams.

You will guide live matters, decide on settlements vs. litigation, and manage external counsel across the business from rice farming operations to financing and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in law from an Indonesian university.
• Active PERADI membership – required for court proceedings.
• 6+ years post-qualification experience, with at least 4 years in a law firm focusing on disputes.
• Experience with Indonesian courts and/or arbitration (e.g. BANI, SIAC).
• Fluent written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end lifecycle of disputes and litigation for the Indonesian business.
• Maintain a litigation risk register and design playbooks to resolve matters efficiently.
• Manage debt recovery, settlements, and related negotiations with internal teams.
• Draft and negotiate settlement documents; oversee external counsel.
• Partner with commercial teams and escalate to Head of Legal as needed.
• In-house stakeholder guidance to non-lawyers with practical advice.
