Job summary

Shopee is seeking an HSE professional for its Medan warehouse operations. The role focuses on developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental programs aligned with regional strategies, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement in safety performance.

The candidate will lead hazard assessments, conduct training, and manage emergency readiness. A bachelor’s degree in public health or related fields, plus 2–4 years of HSE experience, is required, with ISO management systems

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental/Industrial Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• AK3U certification is preferred; English is a must.
• Experience with Integrated Management Systems (ISO 45001/14001/9001).
• 2-4 years of experience in a similar HSE role in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Experience executing HSE programs and understanding legal requirements.

• Develops regular HSE operational plans aligned with the HSE Project Lead.
• Implements HSE programs and policies at the warehouse level, with hazard assessments.
• Evaluates operational safety through audits, inspections, and daily monitoring.
• Delivers HSE training at the warehouse level to ensure compliance.
• Maintains emergency readiness, inspections, and training of response teams.
• Maintains documentation of daily HSE activities, hazard reports, and training.

Job description

The Operation teams at Shopee covers the operational end-to-end process, from when the buyer searches for a product listed on the Shopee platform, to the moment the buyer receives the products. The team analyses and monitors operational KPIs across the region and conducts root cause analysis when operation performance fluctuates. The Operations team comprises Customer Service, Payment, Listings, Warehouse, Logistics, Seller Operations and Fraud.

Job Description:

• Develops regular HSE operational plans aligned with strategies from HSE Project Lead and ensures effective execution.
• Implements HSE programs and policies at the warehouse level, conducting hazard assessments, safety observations, and regular inspections.
• Evaluates operational safety through audits, inspections, and daily monitoring, ensuring adherence to approved strategies.
• Delivers HSE training at the warehouse level, ensuring workers are informed and compliant with safety standards.
• Maintains emergency readiness, conducting equipment inspections, updating plans, and training emergency response teams.
• Maintains documentation of daily HSE activities, hazard reports, and training sessions to ensure accessibility and compliance.
• Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve operational safety concerns, escalating complex issues when necessary.

Requirements:

• Hold a minimum Bachelor's degree in Public Health/Environmental Engineering/Industrial Engineering
• Has prior 2-4 years of working experience in a similar HSE role, preferably within an industrial or manufacture environment
• Understanding and able to implement Integrated Management Systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001 & ISO 9001)
• Experience in HSE program execution, understanding HSE legal requirements and other requirements.
• Experience handling environmental management is an advantage.
• Certification in AK3U is preferred, english is a must.
• Strong analytical skills.
