Job summary

PT. Samudra Maju Perkasa is seeking a senior HSE leader to develop and implement effective health, safety and environmental management across mining operations.

You will drive policy, training and inspections to minimise risk and ensure regulatory compliance while fostering a proactive safety culture. You will oversee audits, investigations and performance reporting, collaborating with operations and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of senior HSE experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Thorough knowledge of HSE laws, regulations and best practices.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing HSE management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team of HSE professionals.

Job description

Developing and implementing comprehensive HSE policies, procedures and management systems to minimise risks and ensure regulatory compliance

Overseeing the execution of HSE training programmes and leading safety initiatives to foster a strong safety culture among our workforce

Conducting regular site inspections, audits and incident investigations to identify and address potential hazards

Collaborating with operational teams to integrate HSE considerations into all aspects of our mining activities

Monitoring and reporting on key HSE performance metrics to senior management

Representing the company in liaising with regulatory bodies and other stakeholders on HSE-related matters

Managing and developing the HSE team, providing coaching and guidance to ensure their professional growth

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline

Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in a senior HSE role, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sector

Thorough understanding of relevant HSE legislation, regulations and industry best practices

Proven track record in developing and implementing effective HSE management systems

Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities

Ability to lead and motivate a team of HSE professionals
