We are looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Supervisor to manage the day-to-day HR function of our manufacturing facility in Batam.
The role will be responsible for recruitment, employee administration, labour compliance and employee relations, while also helping management develop more structured HR policies and processes as the company grows.
The ideal candidate is organised, proactive, firm but fair, and comfortable working in a factory environment. You should be able to work independently, communicate well with both management and production employees, and take ownership of HR matters.
Manage the full recruitment process, from job posting and candidate screening to interviews, hiring and onboarding.
Work with department heads to identify manpower requirements.
Recruit production operators, technicians, engineers, administrative staff and other positions as required.
Maintain a candidate database and recruitment records.
Monitor manpower levels, employee turnover and recruitment needs.
Maintain accurate employee records, employment contracts and personnel documentation.
Manage onboarding, probation, confirmation, transfers, promotions and resignations.
Maintain attendance, leave and overtime records.
Coordinate payroll-related information and employee benefits.
Manage BPJS Kesehatan, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and other statutory requirements.
Ensure HR practices comply with applicable Indonesian employment laws and regulations.
Keep management informed of relevant changes in labour regulations.
Maintain proper HR documentation and support government inspections or audits when required.
Develop and maintain company HR policies, procedures and employee guidelines.
Handle employee grievances, workplace conflicts and disciplinary matters.
Work closely with supervisors and managers to address attendance, performance and behavioural issues.
Ensure disciplinary actions are handled consistently, fairly and with proper documentation.
Maintain a professional and positive working environment.
Coordinate probation and employee performance reviews.
Support managers in establishing appropriate KPIs and performance expectations.
Identify training needs and coordinate employee training programs.
Assist management in developing employees for increased responsibilities.
Improve and standardise HR processes and procedures.
Maintain accurate HR data and provide regular reports to management.
Monitor key HR indicators including:
Headcount and manpower requirements
Employee turnover
Attendance and absenteeism
Overtime
Recruitment progress
Training
Disciplinary cases
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration or related field.
3–5+ years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Good knowledge of Indonesian labour laws and HR practices.
Experience managing production / blue-collar employees is highly preferred.
Experience in recruitment, employee relations, attendance, payroll coordination and disciplinary matters.
Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Firm but fair approach when dealing with employees.
Proactive, organised and able to work independently.
Good Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
Bahasa Indonesia is required. English or Mandarin Chinese is preferred.
Experience working in a manufacturing factory.
Experience with Batam / Indonesian industrial environments.
Experience handling a workforce of 50+ employees.
Experience implementing or improving HR systems and processes.
Familiarity with BPJS and Indonesian employment compliance.
The successful candidate will be responsible not only for managing daily HR activities, but also for building a more structured, efficient and professional HR function within the factory.
