Job summary

Oriental Sheet Piling, a business unit of ArcelorMittal, is seeking an on-site HSE Supervisor based in Tangerang to implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental standards across offices and sites.

The role focuses on risk assessments, safety programs, incidents investigations, and promoting a strong safety culture in accordance with Indonesian regulations and ArcelorMittal global standards. Travel to project locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety (K3) or Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in HSE/K3 roles, preferably in construction, steel, manufacturing, infra, or projects.
• AK3 Umum certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of Indonesian occupational safety regulations and environmental requirements.
• Experience establishing or improving HSE systems, procedures, and safety programs.
• Fluent communication in English and good reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and develop HSE policies, procedures, programs, and safety standards in line with Indonesian regulations and industry best practices.
• Develop and implement HSE management systems, including safety procedures, risk assessment processes, reporting systems, and compliance frameworks.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, and hazard identification activities to create a safe working environment.
• Maintain HSE documentation, including safety manuals, procedures, reports, incident records, and compliance documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Indonesian K3 regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety standards.
• Deliver safety induction programs, toolbox talks, and HSE awareness training for employees, contractors, and project teams.
• Develop incident reporting and investigation processes, conduct investigations for incidents and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Establish emergency response procedures, safety drills, and crisis management plans.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure HSE requirements are implemented effectively.
• Monitor HSE performance indicators and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Build and promote a strong safety culture with active employee engagement.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site HSE Supervisor role based in Tangerang. This role will be responsible for implementing and maintaining Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient business operations. The position will support Oriental Sheet Piling’s commitment to safety excellence by managing workplace safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture across office, warehouse, and project-related activities. Working closely with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders, this role will help ensure compliance with Indonesian regulations and ArcelorMittal’s global safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and develop HSE policies, procedures, programs, and safety standards from the ground up in accordance with Indonesian regulations and industry best practices.
• Develop and implement HSE management systems, including safety procedures, risk assessment processes, reporting systems, and compliance frameworks.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits, and hazard identification activities to establish a safe working environment.
• Develop and maintain HSE documentation, including safety manuals, procedures, reports, incident records, and compliance documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Indonesian occupational health and safety (K3) regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety standards.
• Conduct safety induction programs, toolbox meetings, and HSE awareness training for employees, contractors, and project teams.
• Develop incident reporting and investigation processes, conduct investigations for incidents and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Establish emergency response procedures, safety drills, and crisis management plans.
• Support project and operational teams in implementing safe work practices, including permit-to-work systems and contractor safety management.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure HSE requirements are effectively implemented.
• Monitor HSE performance indicators and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Build and promote a strong safety culture by encouraging employee engagement and ownership of HSE practices.

General Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Occupational Health & Safety (K3), Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in HSE/K3 roles, preferably within construction, steel, manufacturing, infrastructure, or project-based industries.
• Experience in establishing or improving HSE systems, procedures, and safety programs is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Indonesian occupational safety regulations, environmental requirements, and HSE management systems.
• Possession of AK3 Umum certification is required.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments, safety inspections, incident investigations, and HSE reporting.
• Familiarity with construction safety practices, contractor management, and permit-to-work systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence teams and drive safety improvements.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership in building HSE processes within a growing company environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken, to communicate with international stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to project locations when required.
