Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, and cocktail techniques (classic and contemporary).
• Proven ability to lead and motivate bar teams while maintaining service standards.
• Strong customer service skills with guest engagement.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, especially during peak hours.
• Familiarity with POS systems and inventory management software.
• Certification in responsible service of alcohol and food handling (or willingness to obtain).
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; collaborative with FOH/B OH teams.
• Physical stamina to stand for long hours in a fast-paced bar environment.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head/Senior Bartender to join our upcoming restaurant in Kuta, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. This is a full-time position offering a unique opportunity to lead our bar operations and elevate our beverage menu to new level. As Head/Senior Bartender, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of bar management, from crafting exceptional cocktails to training and mentoring junior bar staff. This role is pivotal in delivering outstanding customer experiences and maintaining the highest standards of service and product quality that define our establishment.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage daily bar operations, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality beverages and exceptional customer service
• Develop and execute innovative cocktail menus that reflect current trends and showcase creativity and expertise
• Train, mentor, and supervise junior bartenders and bar staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
• Monitor inventory levels, manage stock ordering, and maintain accurate records of beverage costs and usage
• Maintain rigorous standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health and safety compliance throughout the bar area
• Handle customer interactions professionally, resolving any issues or complaints with discretion and professionalism
• Collaborate with management to optimize bar profitability whilst maintaining quality standards
• Stay current with industry trends, new spirits, and mixology techniques to keep our offerings fresh and competitive
• Ensure compliance with local licensing laws and responsible service of alcohol practices

What we're looking for:

• 5-7 years' experience as a bartender, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or head bartender role
• Advanced knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, and cocktail preparation techniques, including classic and contemporary cocktails.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate bar teams whilst maintaining high standards of performance and professionalism
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests, build rapport, and create memorable experiences
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, particularly during peak service periods
• Knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software
• Certification in responsible service of alcohol and food handling (or willingness to obtain)
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with front-of-house and back-of-house teams
• Physical stamina to work on your feet for extended periods in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering excellence in every interaction
• Familiarity with Indonesian bar culture and local preferences is advantageous but not essential
