Job summary

PT Talenta Eksekutif Asia has a client seeking a Head of Mining Operations for an underground, remote FIFO mining operation in Papua New Guinea. The role leads development, planning, contractor management, and safety across the site to deliver safe, efficient production that meets targets.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years underground mining experience with 5 years in senior leadership and holds (or can obtain) the PNG Metalliferous Mine Manager CoC. English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or closely related discipline.
• PNG CoC (Metalliferous Mine Manager) or immediate eligibility to obtain one.
• Minimum 10 years of underground mining experience with 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
• Professional fluency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for underground mining operations, including mine development, production, ground support, ventilation, and services.
• Collaborate with Technical Services and Geology to develop and execute short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans.
• Ensure compliance with mining legislation and Mine Safety Management System.
• Manage departmental budgets, costs, and capital expenditure planning.
• Oversee contractor performance to meet productivity targets and safety standards.
• Lead and develop Mining Superintendents, Shift Bosses, Supervisors, Engineers, and operational staff.
• Monitor production, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement for productivity and reliability.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration across mine operations, maintenance, and processing.
