Honest, a Series B fintech in Indonesia, seeks a senior compliance leader to oversee licensing, reporting, and monitoring to sustain OJK and Bank Indonesia authorizations. You will head three officers and be the day-to-day face to regulators.

Based in Jakarta, you will manage product reviews for regulatory risk, consumer protection, and governance, while maintaining regulator relationships and driving a proactive compliance culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, or a related field.
• 8+ years in compliance or regulatory affairs at an OJK/BI-regulated institution, including people management.
• Knowledge of OJK and Bank Indonesia rules for finance companies and credit card issuers.
• Track record of licensing and regulatory reporting without missed deadlines.
• Experience leading a team and interfacing with regulators.
• Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

The role

You'll lead Honest's regulatory compliance function — the licensing, reporting, and monitoring work that keeps our OJK and Bank Indonesia authorizations intact. Three compliance officers covering governance, product, and consumer protection will report to you, and you'll be the day-to-day face of compliance with our regulators.

What you'll do

• Build and run the annual compliance monitoring and testing plan across the business.


• Track new OJK and Bank Indonesia regulations, assess what they mean for us, and coordinate the response.


• Manage licensing applications, renewals, and every regulatory reporting obligation we have.


• Review new products before launch and sign off on compliance risk.


• Own the consumer protection framework and complaint governance process.


• Maintain the day-to-day relationship with OJK, Bank Indonesia, PPATK, and industry associations.


• Flag material compliance issues to the Director of Compliance and the board committees that need to know.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, or a related field.


• 8+ years in compliance or regulatory affairs at a bank, multifinance company, payments business, or another OJK/BI-regulated institution, including people management experience.


• Working knowledge of OJK and Bank Indonesia rules for finance companies and credit card issuers — licensing, reporting, product approval, consumer protection.


• A track record of running licensing and regulatory reporting without missed deadlines.


• Comfortable managing a team and representing the company directly to regulators.


• Fluent Bahasa Indonesia and English.

What makes you stand out

• Direct prior experience as a compliance officer liaising with OJK or Bank Indonesia.


• Experience building or scaling a compliance monitoring program from scratch.


• Background in credit card or consumer lending compliance specifically.
