Job summary

Accor Makassar Grand Shayla is seeking an experienced Engineering Leader to supervise the hotel's engineering team, recruit and develop staff, and ensure safe, reliable building systems.

The role oversees preventive maintenance, energy management, budgeting, and project delivery for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety, coordinating with other departments to minimise downtime and guest disruption.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety).
• Experience in budgeting and cost control for maintenance operations.
• Proven project management skills with contractor oversight.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the engineering team, including recruiting, training, and developing staff.
• Assign tasks, manage shifts, and oversee daily operations of the engineering department.
• Provide technical expertise and support for maintenance staff.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs and repairs for all hotel equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Manage department budget and cost control, including energy use and capex.
• Collaborate with other departments to maintain guest areas and back‑of‑house operations.
• Lead safety inspections and coordinate with external contractors for large projects.
