Job summary

Newtimes Development Limited seeks a senior apparel merchandising leader based in Jakarta to drive sourcing, costing, and vendor negotiations across factories and regions. You will coordinate with design, QA, logistics and regional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products for international buyers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion, Textile or Clothing or related discipline.
• Minimum 6-8 years in apparel merchandising, sourcing, or buying, including 2-3 years in a managerial or team-lead role.
• Proven track record with international apparel buyers/brands (US experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of garment production, fabric/trim sourcing, costing, and QA processes.
• Excellent negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin is a plus.
• Willingness to travel across Indonesia or overseas; proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Work with vendors, design/technical teams, and cross-functional partners to resolve costing, merchandising, and delivery issues.
• Proactively collaborate with merchandising teams, customers, vendors/factories to ensure high-quality products.
• Serve as a key contact for international buyers and translate requirements into actionable plans.
• Maintain relationships to meet development/production schedules and on-time delivery.
• Monitor order follow-up, resolve production issues, and ensure quality.
• Negotiate with fabric, trim, and garment suppliers on pricing, MOQs, lead times, and terms.
• Contribute to cost planning and risk assessment throughout production; coordinate with QA/QC, logistics, design, and regional teams.
• Track market trends and feed insights to buyers and HQ; provide training on product knowledge and merchandising skills.
• Prepare and present order status, WIP, and KPI reports to management.
