Job summary

Pointe Russe Ltd. is seeking a Footwear Technician to assist in the design, development and production of footwear. You will support designers, develop patterns and prototypes, and help manage materials and production processes to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.

You will evaluate materials, contribute to construction methods, perform prototype testing, and support R&D to drive sustainable and innovative footwear solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or certification in footwear design, engineering or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD; 3D modeling tools advantageous.
• Strong understanding of materials, construction methods and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of quality control processes and standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in English.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of sustainability and eco-friendly practices in footwear industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers to understand concepts and assist in drawings and specs.
• Create and modify patterns and prototypes to match design intent.
• Procure, track and manage materials and components used in production.
• Develop prototypes, ensure quality, and test performance of samples.
• Inspect finished products and implement QC processes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production and resolve issues.
• Conduct R&D to identify trends and new materials, technologies and products.
