Job summary

APP Group in Indonesia seeks a Senior Technical Specialist to lead Fire Management initiatives. The role focuses on developing transformation roadmaps, researching best practices, and evaluating technologies such as drones and AI-based monitoring to strengthen fire prevention and response.

Based in Serpong, you will collaborate across teams, analyze risk data, and help shape data-driven fire management strategies while supporting aviation and emergency tech evaluations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Forestry or related fields.
• 10+ years of professional experience.
• 5+ years in senior/lead roles.
• Experience in Forest & Land Fire Management or related areas.
• Strong knowledge of IFM, Fire Prevention, Early Detection, Rapid Response, Risk Assessment, and ICS.
• Proficiency with GIS, Remote Sensing, and Fire Analytics.
• Willing to travel to operational areas; based in Serpong.

What You Will Experience:

• Support the development of the company's Fire Management transformation roadmap, including organizational, system, and technology development.
• Lead research and benchmarking on Forest & Land Fire Management, wildfire management, and global emergency management best practices.
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies such as drones, AI-based CCTV, IoT sensors, remote sensing, and fire monitoring systems to improve fire prevention and response.
• Support the development of Smart Fire Monitoring, Digital Fire Management, Fire Command Center, and Fire Intelligence Systems.
• Analyze fire-related data and trends to support risk assessment, predictive modelling, and strategic decision-making.
• Develop concepts and recommendations for Fire Decision Support Systems and data-driven fire management strategies.
• Support the evaluation of aviation and aerial firefighting technologies, including helicopter operations, water bombing, and aerial firefighting services.
• Develop and strengthen Integrated Fire Management (IFM) standards, methodologies, best practices, and organizational capabilities.
• Collaborate with Fire Readiness, Technology & Data Management, and other relevant teams to improve overall Fire Management effectiveness.
• Act as a knowledge center for Fire Management technology, innovation, research, and fire intelligence.

What is Required:

• Master's degree (S2) in one of the following fields: Forestry, Forest Fire Management, Forestry Management, GIS/Geospatial Science, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, Geography, Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Technical Specialist, Subject Matter Expert, Project Lead, or in a managerial position.
• Experience in one or more areas of Forest & Land Fire Management, Forestry Operations, Peatland Management, GIS & Remote Sensing, Fire Prevention, Fire Readiness, Fire Detection, Fire Analytics, Emergency Management, Environmental Management, Technology Development, or Innovation Programs.
• Strong knowledge of Integrated Fire Management (IFM), Fire Prevention, Fire Readiness, Early Detection, Rapid Response, Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Behaviour Analysis, and Incident Command System (ICS).
• Strong technical knowledge of Drone Systems, CCTV Monitoring, AI-based Monitoring, IoT Monitoring, Fire Command Center Technology, Communication Systems, and emerging technologies.
• Proficiency in GIS, Spatial Analysis, Fire Risk Mapping, Hotspot Monitoring, Remote Sensing, and Satellite Monitoring.
• Strong capability in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, Fire Analytics, Predictive Modelling, Risk Analysis, and Dashboard Interpretation.
• Experience in Research Methodology, Technology Assessment, Innovation Management, Pilot Project Development, Technical Evaluation, Cost-Benefit Analysis, and Strategic Planning.
• Strong strategic thinking, research, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Position will be based in Serpong
• Willing to travel extensively to operational areas based on business needs.
