Job summary
APP Group seeks a Senior Specialist – Forest Fire Management, Technology & Innovation to lead research, innovation, and technology systems for improving Integrated Fire Management across prevention, readiness, detection and rapid response. Qualifications
- Relevant degree in Forestry, Fire Management, GIS or Remote Sensing.
- At least 10 years of professional forestry experience.
- At least 5 years in a Senior Technical Specialist, SME, Project Lead, or managerial role.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Experience in Forest & Land Fire Management, GIS/RS, Fire Detection, and related technology development.
Responsibilities
- Strategically develop the company’s long-term Fire Management strategy by identifying global best practices and opportunities for improved IFM.
- Lead research, benchmarking and innovation initiatives to identify new approaches and technologies for wildfire prevention, detection, control and response.
- Assess and develop advanced fire monitoring, detection, firefighting, and digital technologies (drones, AI, IoT, sensors, Fire Command Centre).
- Use fire data, predictive analytics and intelligence systems to improve risk assessment and early warning.
- Develop and evaluate aerial firefighting strategies, technologies, vendors and operations.
- Strengthen Fire Management capabilities through standards, methodologies, technology competencies, and knowledge sharing.
