BMW Motorrad is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Jakarta. The role oversees accounting operations, tax compliance, and financial reporting, guiding best practices and governance.

You will mentor the accounting team and coordinate with auditors and authorities. We seek a qualified professional with strong IFRS/GAAP knowledge, 5–8 years in accounting/tax, and a proven leadership track record.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• ACCA/CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• 5–8 years in accounting and tax, with 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Deep knowledge of Indonesian tax law and IFRS/GAAP knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Oversee accounting operations including AP/AR, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Lead tax planning and compliance for Indonesian and international regulations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Develop accounting policies and ensure adherence and consistency.
• Provide strategic financial insights to senior management.

About the role

BMW Motorrad is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in a full‑time capacity based in Cilandak, Jakarta Raya. This is a strategic role that will be pivotal in overseeing the accounting and tax operations of our organisation. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations whilst maintaining accurate financial records and providing valuable financial insights to support business decision‑making. This position plays a crucial role in safeguarding the financial integrity of BMW Motorrad and driving our financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and accounting reporting
• Manage tax planning, tax compliance, and tax return preparation in accordance with Indonesian and international tax regulations
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management accounts
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance
• Conduct financial analysis and variance reporting to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Manage relationships with external auditors and tax authorities
• Oversee the accounting team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax filings and financial disclosures
• Identify and implement process improvements accounting functions
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior management to support business planning and decision‑making

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent recognised certification
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in accounting and tax management roles, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity
• Comprehensive knowledge of Indonesian tax legislation, including income tax, VAT, and corporate tax compliance
• Strong experience with financial reporting, consolidation, and GAAP or IFRS standards
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
• Proven ability to manage and lead accounting teams effectively
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
• Knowledge of automotive industry finance practices would be advantageous
• Experience with multi‑entity accounting and intercompany transactions is preferred
