Job summary

PT SGS Indonesia is seeking a field sampling specialist to perform environmental and health & safety related sampling at project sites. The role requires conducting sampling in line with procedures, reporting field data, and maintaining equipment, while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or relevant scientific/technical discipline.
• Basic knowledge of environmental sampling, field measurement, or related technical activities.
• Good numerical and basic technical skills.
• Physically capable of performing field-based activities and working in various outdoor conditions.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Willing to travel frequently according to field assignment requirements.
• Good communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia; English proficiency would be an advantage.
• Relevant technical or competency certification from a recognized institution would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field sampling activities in accordance with applicable procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Perform environmental and/or occupational health & safety related sampling activities at customer or project sites.
• Ensure sampling activities are carried out safely, accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established technical requirements.
• Record and report sampling activities, field data, observations, and findings accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare, inspect, maintain, and manage sampling equipment and supporting materials required for field activities.
• Ensure sampling equipment is properly handled and maintained to support reliable field operations.
• Follow applicable quality, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), and laboratory management requirements, including relevant ISO/IEC 17025 practices.
• Coordinate effectively with internal teams and customers during field assignments.
• Maintain professional conduct, integrity, and confidentiality throughout all assignments.
• Be available for frequent travel and field assignments based on operational requirements.

Able to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing field conditions.

Good computer literacy, particularly in common Microsoft Office applications.

Relevant technical or competency certification from a recognized institution would be an advantage.
