Yayasan Hutan Tropis in Aceh invites a Forest and Carbon Officer to support conservation strategies and work plans across the Aceh landscape. You will coordinate between communities and partners, helping to implement field activities and monitor forest-related programs.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor degree in forestry or natural resources, at least two years' experience, and comfort working in remote areas with a fly-in fly-out roster.

Yayasan Hutan Tropis was legally established in Indonesia in 2005 as a national non-profit organization (Yayasan). We are affiliated with the Earthworm Foundation as the implementing partner for activities in Indonesia. Our offices are based in Semarang and Jakarta, with a total of 73 staffs. Our operational areas include Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau, and East Kalimantan.
As the Forest and Carbon Officer in Aceh Landscape, you will be primarily responsible for supporting forest and conservation program strategies and work plans according to the landscape contexts including assessment, management, and monitoring plan. You will work as the key liaison between the community and related parties, identifying, preparing, and managing field activities based on the work plan.

Work as the key liaison between the community and related parties and identify, prepare, and manage field activities based on the work plan
Conduct engagement and communication including informal discussions at the local stakeholder levels (villages, companies, local government, forestry, and environment institutions, KPH, Taman Nasional, BKSDA, etc.)
Facilitate all field activities for synergy of sustainable land and forest management minimum at 2 components, nursery, agroforestry, restoration, and forest protection, diagnostic studies in the forest (HCV/HCS)
Conduct regular monitoring and develop technical reports on the progress of forest management and conservation activities in the landscape
Passionate about working on issues related to sustainability, resilience, and supply chains
Have interest and familiar with tree planting, agroforestry, restoration, and forest protection
Willing to take a hands-on approach to forest and carbon issues in the Aceh Landscape
Familiar with operating GIS
Able to work within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
Able to handle multiple tasks and work autonomously
Demonstrated experience in forestry or natural resource management
Knowledge of governance and institutional contexts, from national, subnational, and local
Ready and enjoy engaging with various stakeholders such as local government, companies, forestry and environment institutions, and local communities
Ready to stay and work in remote areas for extensive period with a fly-in fly-out roster
Education: Bachelor's degree or above, in relevant field preferable
Experience: 2 years minimum
Employment: Full-time/Fixed term (1 year)
