Job summary

Yayasan Hutan Tropis in Aceh invites a Forest and Carbon Officer to support conservation strategies and work plans across the Aceh landscape. You will coordinate between communities and partners, helping to implement field activities and monitor forest-related programs.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor degree in forestry or natural resources, at least two years' experience, and comfort working in remote areas with a fly-in fly-out roster.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry, environment, or natural resource management.
• At least 2 years of relevant forestry or conservation experience.
• Experience engaging with local communities and government bodies.
• Willingness to work in remote Aceh areas for extended periods.
• Familiarity with GIS and landscape management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support development of forest and conservation program strategies and plans.
• Coordinate field activities based on work plans with communities and partners.
• Liaise between communities, local government, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor program progress and prepare technical reports.
• Participate in field activities related to nursery, agroforestry, restoration, and forest protection.
