Join us to accelerate your career and be part of an exceptional team that transforms ambitious visions into high-performing assets.
About the Position:
The Cakap Group provides end-to-end restaurant and bar consulting to hospitality clients across Indonesia, including SOP development, pre-opening project management, and training for kitchen and service teams. We are looking for an experienced F&B Service Trainer to deliver hands‑on training to our clients’ front-of-house teams, covering SOPs, sequence of service, and front‑of‑house inventory.
This is a training-focused role for a hospitality professional with strong SOP exposure from well‑run hotels and resorts, ready to take the next step: teaching others to deliver the same standard. You will work mostly with client teams, including hosts and hostesses, waiters and waitresses, servers, and bar teams, building their skills and confidence in guest service and communication.
What You Will Contribute:
As an F&B Service Trainer at The Cakap Group, your core contribution is turning service standards into everyday habits. By training client teams in SOPs, sequence of service, and front‑of‑house inventory control, and coaching them on how they communicate with and serve guests, you help our clients open strong and keep their service consistent long after the training ends.
What You Will Do:
SOP & Sequence of Service Training
- Deliver hands‑on training on restaurant SOPs and the full sequence of service, from welcoming and seating guests to ordering, serving, clearing, and farewell.
- Train hosts, hostesses, waiters, waitresses, and servers in guest communication, product knowledge, suggestive selling, and professional guest interaction.
- Guide bar teams on the service side of their role: how to greet, communicate, recommend, and serve guests with warmth and consistency.
- Run service simulations, role plays, briefings, and mock services to build team confidence before opening and during the stabilization period.
Front-of-House Operations & Inventory
- Train teams on front‑of‑house inventory and stock control, including opening and closing counts, par levels, requisitions, and tracking of supplies, glassware, and breakage.
- Teach opening and closing procedures, side station and table setup, and the correct use of POS, reservation, and payment procedures.
- Introduce simple checklists and operational controls that teams can follow independently after the training.
- Assist in developing and updating service SOPs, checklists, and training materials for each client’s concept and menu.
Coaching, Assessment & Follow‑Up
- Observe live service and give clear, constructive, on‑the‑spot coaching and feedback.
- Assess team members using training checklists and evaluations, track their progress, and identify those who need additional support.
- Follow up after each training to make sure standards are sustained during the initial operating period.
- Prepare training reports and recommendations for the Restaurant and Bar Manager and the client.
Client & Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the Restaurant and Bar Manager and project teams (kitchen, bar, purchasing) to align training with each project’s timeline.
- Represent The Cakap Group professionally in front of clients, their management, and their teams.
Who We’re Looking For:
Must-Have
- Minimum 3 years of experience in restaurant or F&B service, currently a Supervisor or above, with Supervisor-level experience in your previous property as well.
- Strong exposure to well‑structured SOPs in reputable hotels or resorts, such as 5‑star properties in Bali, Jakarta, or overseas, or well‑regarded 4‑star properties in Bali.
- Confident in training and coaching others: comfortable standing in front of a team, demonstrating service techniques, and leading briefings and role plays.
- Solid knowledge of sequence of service, service standards, guest communication, POS systems, and front‑of‑house inventory control.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with good English and Bahasa Indonesia, and a patient, professional approach to giving constructive feedback.
- Flexible to travel to client sites, and to work extended hours, weekends, and public holidays, particularly during pre‑opening and opening periods.
Nice to Have (Will Set You Apart)
- Pre‑opening experience in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or beach club.
- Prior experience as a department trainer or training officer, or a train‑the‑trainer certification.
- Experience in both floor service and bar service, with good beverage knowledge.
- Interest in hospitality consulting and in working across different concepts and client cultures.
What We Offer:
- Religious Holiday Allowance (THR)
- BPJS Health & Employment Coverage
- Meal Allowance
- Hands‑on exposure to restaurant training, SOP development, and hospitality consulting across multiple client projects in Bali.
