Job summary

PT JHL TRANS INDONESIA is seeking an Export Import Supervisor to lead barge, container and project cargo shipments. You will report to senior management and supervise daily import/export operations, coordinate vessel and barge schedules, and ensure compliance with regulations.

The role requires 3+ years in freight forwarding or logistics, English fluency, strong leadership, and ability to manage multiple shipments under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily import and export operations for containerized and project cargo.

• Plan loading/unloading, stuffing/destuffing of containers and project cargo.
• Liaise with customs, port operators, shipping lines and transport partners.
• Monitor cargo tracking and provide shipment updates to customers and management.
• Prepare operational reports and KPI dashboards.
• Identify and resolve shipment-related issues and delays.
• Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and SOPs.

About the role

PT JHL TRANS INDONESIA Urgently Hiring ! Export Import Supervisor (Barge, Container & Project Cargo) to join our dynamic logistics and freight forwarding team. This position reports directly to senior management and is integral to the success of our freight forwarding operations.

Qualifications

• Experience handling barge, container and project cargo shipment.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in freight forwarding, cargo handling, or logistics supervision, with specific experience managing barge, container, and project cargo operations.
• In-depth knowledge of export/import procedures, international shipping documentation, and customs regulations.
• Having relations within owner barge, shipping line and trucking.
• Understanding of container yard operations and vessel scheduling.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily import and export operations for containerized and project cargo shipments.
• Coordinate barge transportation schedules and ensure efficient cargo movement between ports and terminals.
• Plan and monitor loading, unloading, stuffing, and destuffing of containers and project cargo.
• Liaise with customs authorities, port operators, shipping lines, and transport partners to facilitate smooth cargo movement.
• Manage cargo tracking and provide shipment status updates to customers and management.
• Monitor vessel, barge, and container schedules to minimize delays.
• Prepare operational reports, shipment performance reports, and KPI dashboards.
• Support project cargo planning, including heavy lift, oversized cargo, and special equipment transportation.
• Identify and resolve operational issues, delays, or discrepancies related to shipments in a timely manner.
• Maintain compliance with international maritime regulations, safety protocols, and company standard operating procedures.
