Petrosea is seeking an Environmental Officer to lead environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and protection efforts within the organization in Kalimantan Timur. The role focuses on educating staff, monitoring performance, and reporting on environmental progress to support company goals.

Key duties include regulatory oversight, developing management plans, and maintaining facilities in line with government and client requirements, while upholding ethics and zero-tolerance for fraud.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in environmental management and/or engineering, preferably in mining.
• Strong understanding of Environment Facilities Management (e.g., sediment pond, hazardous waste storage) and risk management in mining.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, sustainability, and responsible environmental practices.
• Experience in Safety & Health management processes is an advantage.
• Able to operate a light 4x4 vehicle and familiar with mining/HSE contexts.

• Maintain SHE programs and SHE Management System to meet ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SMK3 & SMKP requirements.

This position is under the directorate of Safety, Health, and Environment and responsible for managing environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and environmental protection efforts within an organization. The Environment Officer plays a key role in promoting sustainable practices, managing environmental risks, and supporting the company’s overall environmental goals.The position also involves educating staff, monitoring environmental performance, and reporting on the company’s sustainability and environmental efforts.

Job Responsibilities

Ensure the organization complies with all environmental regulations, laws, and standards at local, national, and international levels

Successfully executed Environmental Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

Drive the development of environmental management plans and sustainability strategies aligned with the company’s broader business goals.

Managing Sustainability & Environmental Performance

Identify, assess, and manage environmental risks (e.g., pollution, resource depletion, waste management), ensuring the implementation of risk control measures. Including maintain Environment Facilities in compliance with Government Regulation & Client Requirement.

Track and report on environmental targets, providing updates on progress toward sustainability goals and recommending actions for continuous improvement.

Monitoring, reporting, and documentation about Environment

Take an active role as role model to provide guide in upholding ethics and integrity (e.g., willing to provide guidance/consultation on ethics and integrity whenever required, continuously uphold ethical values in doing day-to-day process, etc.) in supporting company’s ethical culture.

Zero tolerance to fraud (including bribery)

Maintain and actively implement SHE programs and responsibility (involve identify, mitigate and monitor SHE risk), including SHE Management System to ensure the effectiveness of the programs conform to official standard, requirements and procedure applied and to confirm the execution of the SHE Responsibility meet the intended outcome

Education

Bachelor's Degree of Environmental Engineering or related field

Skill, Knowledge, and Experience

• Min 3-5 years’ experience in environmental management and/or engineering, preferably within Mining industry
• Strong understanding of Environment Facilities Management (Sediment Pond, Hazardous Waste Storage, etc.), Environment Risk Management in Mining Sector, and best practices in waste management, energy conservation, and resourceefficiency.
• Results-driven with a commitment to continuous improvement and environmental sustainability.
• Previous experience in Safety & Health Management process will be advantage
• Able to operate Light Vehicle 4x4
• Familiarity with mining and HSE.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill
• Excellent communication, presentation, and report writing skill
• Fluent in English (written and verbal)

Certification

• If candidates do not meet the requirements specified in the Education section, evaluation shall be conducted in accordance with KKNI Level 5
