Job description

VinFast Indonesia is looking for experienced manufacturing professionals to join our growing EV automotive manufacturing operations in Subang. This is a leadership-track opportunity across Stamping Shop, General Assembly Shop, Body Shop, or Paint Shop. The role is suitable for experienced professionals with a strong background in automotive manufacturing, production, engineering, quality, or shop management who are interested in taking on a future leadership role. Candidates will be considered based on their experience and suitability for the assigned shop. Depending on the candidate's background and experience, the position may be aligned at Manager or Director level as part of the future leadership development pathway.

Key responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate end-to-end shop operations, including production, quality, maintenance, process, engineering, and manpower management.

Monitor daily shop operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, delivery schedules, and operational KPIs are achieved.

Coordinate with related departments such as Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, Logistics, and HSE to resolve operational issues.

Analyze production performance, downtime, quality issues, productivity, capacity, and other key indicators, and develop appropriate improvement actions.

Support problem-solving and root cause analysis for production, quality, equipment, process, and operational issues.

Ensure shop processes comply with company standards, work instructions, safety requirements, and quality procedures.

Monitor and optimize manpower utilization, production capacity, material flow, equipment utilization, and overall shop efficiency.

Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including productivity improvement, cost reduction, waste reduction, and process optimization.

Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering teams regarding equipment availability, preventive maintenance, breakdowns, and technical issues.

Support the implementation and monitoring of new projects, process changes, equipment installation, production ramp-up, and manufacturing improvement initiatives.

Monitor material availability and coordinate with relevant teams to ensure smooth production flow and minimize production interruptions.

Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly shop performance reports and provide operational updates to management.

Identify operational risks, capacity constraints, and potential bottlenecks and proactively develop mitigation plans.

Support the development and coaching of shop team members to improve technical capabilities, discipline, productivity, and leadership skills.

Ensure proper implementation of 5S, safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards within the assigned shop.

Take an active role in cross-functional problem solving and management decision-making related to shop operations.

Support the establishment, development, and continuous improvement of the assigned manufacturing shop as part of the company's growing EV manufacturing operations.

Perform other duties and projects assigned by management related to manufacturing operations and business improvement.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience at Director level, or 10 years of experience in senior managerial positions within automotive manufacturing operations.

Strong experience in one or more of the following areas:

Stamping / Press Shop

Body Shop

Paint Shop

Strong expertise in end-to-end manufacturing operations, including Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Process Improvement.

Proven experience in leading large teams, managing cross-functional operations, and driving operational performance.

Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, quality, productivity, safety, and continuous improvement.

Experience in new plant setup, production ramp-up, process improvement, or manufacturing operation development is highly preferred.

Strong leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong ability to analyze operational data and translate findings into improvement actions.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Willing to be based in Subang, West Java.
