Job summary

PT Citra Tubindo Tbk, Batam, a world-class manufacturer and service provider for oilfield tubular goods, seeks a Material Control Supervisor. You will oversee direct material inventory, guide cross-functional teams, and maintain ERP/MRP systems for accuracy and traceability.

You will lead a team, ensure production readiness, analyze consumption trends, and drive improvements in inventory control and cost reduction while upholding ISO and lean manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, supply chain, logistics, or related field.
Minimum 5 years in Material Control, Inventory Management, or related functions within manufacturing.
Experience in steel manufacturing or heavy industry is highly preferred.
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of MRP and Inventory Control systems; ERP experience required.
Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms; advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
Understanding of SCM principles, ISO standards, lean manufacturing, and steel pipe processes.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Monitor and control direct material inventory levels to meet production needs while minimizing excess stock.
Coordinate with Procurement, Production and Warehouse to ensure timely availability of materials.
Maintain material tracking systems and ERP/MRP data accuracy and traceability.
Analyze consumption trends and develop forecasts to support planning.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and quality standards.
Lead investigations and corrective actions for shortages, discrepancies, or issues.
Support audits with accurate material control documentation and reporting.
Supervise and coach Material Control team to improve performance.
Monitor ERP transactions to ensure timely and correct entry.
Drive continuous improvement in inventory control, material handling, and cost reduction.

Job description

Monitor and control direct material inventory levels to ensure production requirements are met while minimizing excess stock and inventory costs.

Coordinate with Procurement, Production, and Warehouse departments to ensure the timely availability of materials for manufacturing activities.

Manage and maintain material tracking systems, including ERP/MRP platforms, to ensure inventory accuracy and traceability.

Analyze material consumption trends and develop forecasts to support production planning and inventory optimization.

Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and applicable quality management standards.

Lead investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions related to material shortages, discrepancies, or operational issues.

Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate material control documentation and reporting.

Supervise, coach, and develop Material Control team members to achieve departmental objectives and improve performance.

Monitor inventory accuracy and ensure all ERP transactions are completed correctly and on a timely basis.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control, material handling, process efficiency, and cost reduction.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Material Control, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, or related functions within a manufacturing environment.

Experience in steel manufacturing, pipe production, heavy industry, or similar industrial sectors is highly preferred.

Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Inventory Control systems.

Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent platforms.

Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.

Understanding of Supply Chain Management principles and inventory optimization techniques.

Familiarity with ISO standards, quality systems, and lean manufacturing practices.

Understanding of steel pipe manufacturing processes and material specifications is preferred.

Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
