Job summary

PT Alfa Valves Indonesia is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and improving industrial valve products, including Ball, Gate, Globe, Check, Butterfly, and API 6A types. You will prepare detailed drawings, perform calculations, and ensure compliance with international standards.

We require a Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Instrumentation/Industrial Eng, 2–3 years in valve design, and proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Engineering.
• 2–3 years of experience in valve industry.
• API 6A valve design experience is a plus.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with API/ASME/ASTM/ISO standards.
• Strong analytical and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop new valve designs and improve existing product lines based on market requirements.
• Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and technical documentation using CAD.
• Design valve components (body, bonnet, stem, trim, seats, seals, actuators).
• Perform calculations: pressure, Cv, torque, wall thickness, stress analysis.
• Prepare General Assembly Drawings and datasheets for sales orders.
• Support technical bids and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet design specs.
• Assist root-cause analysis and field issue resolution.

Job description

Alfa Valves Indonesia is seeking a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving industrial valve products, including Ball, Gate, Globe, Check, Butterfly, Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves, and API 6A products. This role involves preparing detailed engineering drawings, performing technical calculations, developing product designs, and ensuring compliance with relevant international standards such as API, ASME, ASTM, and ISO.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new valve designs and improve existing product lines based on market and customer requirements.
• Prepare 2D engineering drawings, 3D models, Bills of Materials (BOM), and technical documentation using CAD software.
• Design valve components, including body, bonnet, stem, trim, seats, seals, and actuator interfaces.
• Perform engineering calculations, including pressure ratings, flow coefficients (Cv), torque calculations, wall thickness, and stress analysis.
• Prepare General Assembly Drawings (GAD) and technical datasheets for each sales order.
• Support the preparation of technical bids and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements and specifications are met.
• Support root-cause analysis and troubleshooting related to field issues and product quality concerns.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or Industrial Engineering. Diploma holders in Mechanical Engineering may also be considered.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in the valve industry.
• Experience in API 6A valve design will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, mechanical design, and technical calculations.
• Familiarity with international standards such as API, ASME, ASTM, and ISO.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
