Job summary

PT Kokai Indo Abadi is seeking a Product & Process Design Engineer to develop, improve, and industrialize valve products from concept through prototype, testing, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of mechanical product design, valve manufacturing processes, and standards (API, ASME, ASTM, JIS), plus proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD and strong problem-solving skills.

You will work with Production, Quality, Purchasing and suppliers, create 2D drawings and BOM,

Qualifications

• Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical product design or manufacturing engineering.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and capable of creating and interpreting 2D engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of API, ASME, ASTM, JIS, or other relevant valve-related standards.
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Able to communicate in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve valve product designs based on API, ASME, ASTM, JIS, and other applicable standards.
• Prepare and maintain 2D drawings, 3D models, BOM, and other technical documentation.
• Perform product design activities using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including modeling and drawing creation.
• Review design specifications, dimensions, tolerances, materials, and interfaces for manufacturability.
• Plan project milestones, development schedules, and engineering deliverables.
• Develop prototypes and coordinate testing, evaluation, and validation of valve products.
• Analyze results and modify designs until ready for production.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for consistent and efficient production.
• Apply APQP principles and participate in DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and related quality planning.
• Identify and resolve technical problems through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, suppliers and other departments to troubleshoot issues.
• Support technical discussions with customers and suppliers regarding specifications and changes.
• Review existing products and processes and provide recommendations for design optimization and cost reduction.
