About the role
We are seeking a driven and experienced Deputy Head of Operations to join our school team. This role is a senior leadership position responsible for leading and overseeing all non-academic operational functions of the school and boarding environment.
This role ensures that operational systems, campus services, facilities, and support functions run efficiently, safely, and reliably to enable high-quality academic delivery, student life, and institutional programs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of school and boarding operations.
Oversee day-to-day operational functions including HR, Finance, Procurement, ICT, General Affairs, Facilities, Security, Transportation, Dining, Laundry, and campus services.
Translate institutional direction and policies from the Head of School into clear operational plans, workflows, and timelines.
Provide line management and leadership to operational coordinators and staff.
Ensure staffing structures and duty allocations adequately support operational needs.
Monitor implementation of approved operational budgets and resource utilization.
Ensure procurement, asset management, and internal controls are properly implemented.
Ensure school and boarding facilities meet safety, health, and environmental standards.
Coordinate operational readiness for emergencies, infrastructure failures, and utilities disruptions.
Oversee ICT operational systems, system reliability, and operational data security.
Provide overall oversight of strategic and high-risk vendors, including the School Clinic.
Review vendor performance and decide escalation actions for major service issues.
Prepare regular operational performance reports
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and service quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Education Management, Industrial Engineering, or related fields. (Master’s degree / S2 is an advantage)
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in operations management, education administration, or institutional operations.
At least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing multiple operational functions.
Strong understanding of HR operations, financial administration, general affairs, facilities management, ICT operations, and administrative systems.
Solid knowledge of governance, compliance, internal controls, and SOP-based operations.
Proven ability in people management, cross-functional coordination, and operational planning.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High integrity, structured working style, and strong sense of accountability.
