Job summary

PT Furnindo International in Jepara is seeking a Deputy General Manager – Operations to partner with the General Manager and ownership. This senior role leads day-to-day factory operations across all production departments and coordinates with PPIC, Purchasing, Warehouse, QC, Packing and Export teams.

You will develop and monitor KPIs, manage production lead times, ensure on-time shipments, and drive continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8–10 years of manufacturing experience.
• Significant management experience in factory operations, production, PPIC or supply chain.
• Previous senior roles such as Deputy GM, Factory Manager or similar.
• Strong understanding of PPIC and production planning.
• Professional English and fluent Bahasa Indonesia.

Job description

PT Furnindo International is an established export furniture manufacturer based in Jepara, with approximately 300 employees and a 15,000 m² manufacturing facility.

As part of the strengthening of our management structure and production organization, we are looking for an exceptional Deputy General Manager – Operations to work directly with our General Manager and company ownership.

This is a senior operational management position.

We are looking for a highly capable, structured and hands‑on manufacturing professional who can progressively take responsibility for a significant part of the company's day-to-day operations.

The successful candidate will become the General Manager's key operational partner and will have the authority and responsibility to coordinate the different departments of the factory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Factory Operations :

• - Coordinate day-to-day factory operations across all production departments.
• - Ensure production priorities established by management and PPIC are correctly executed.
• - Identify delays, bottlenecks and risks before they affect customer delivery dates.
• - Ensure department managers execute agreed actions within deadlines.
• - Escalate only significant issues requiring General Manager or ownership decisions.

Production Planning & PPIC Supervision :

• - Work closely with and supervise the PPIC function.
• - Ensure weekly and monthly production plans reflect customer priorities and confirmed shipment requirements.
• - Ensure capacity, materials, manpower and supplier constraints are considered in production planning.
• - Ensure priorities are clearly communicated and understood throughout the factory.
• - Prevent non-priority production from consuming capacity required for urgent orders.
• - Improve visibility and control of Work in Progress (WIP).

Shipment & Delivery Performance :

• - Ensure production priorities are aligned with container shipment schedules.
• - Monitor readiness of orders against confirmed shipment dates.
• - Coordinate Production, PPIC, Purchasing, Warehouse, QC, Packing and Export teams.
• - Ensure potential shipment delays are identified sufficiently early for corrective action.
• - Support proactive container planning and booking.
• - Monitor critical external suppliers and subcontractors.
• - Ensure supplier commitments are realistic and properly followed.
• - Identify supplier-related risks before they affect production.
• - Coordinate corrective actions when materials or components are delayed.

Management & Accountability :

• - Lead daily and weekly operational meetings.
• - Establish clear actions, responsibilities and deadlines.
• - Follow up until actions are completed.
• - Support and coach managers to improve their performance.

Performance Management

Develop and monitor operational KPIs including :

• - Production lead time
• - Work in Progress
• - Department bottlenecks
• - Quality/rework
• - Productivity and capacity utilization

Provide concise and accurate management reporting to the General Manager and ownership.

• - Identify weaknesses in existing processes and propose practical improvements.
• - Participate actively in the development of a stronger PPIC and production-control system.
• - Improve production flow and reduce manufacturing lead time.
• - Develop systems that allow management to identify problems before they become delays.
• - Support implementation of ERP/data-driven management tools.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with :

• - Minimum 8–10 years of manufacturing experience.
• - Significant management experience in factory operations, production, PPIC or supply chain.
• - Previous experience as Operations Manager, Factory Manager, Senior Production Manager, Deputy GM, Assistant GM or similar senior position.
• - Strong understanding of PPIC and production planning.
• - Strong leadership and people‑management ability.
• - Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• - Strong follow‑up and execution discipline.
• - Ability to coordinate multiple departments simultaneously.
• - Strong understanding of capacity planning, WIP, inventory and production flow.
• - Experience with ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel/data‑analysis skills.
• - Professional English and fluent Bahasa Indonesia.

Furniture manufacturing experience is highly desirable.

However, exceptional candidates from other complex export‑oriented manufacturing industries will also be considered.
