Job summary

Alibaba Cloud in Jakarta centers requires a seasoned Facilities Operations Manager to lead daily data-center activities, ensuring uptime for electrical and mechanical systems. You will oversee preventive maintenance, incident response, and on-site coordination with vendors and the colocation operator.

The role demands 5+ years in O&M for mission-critical facilities, strong electrical/HVAC knowledge, and proven risk management. On-site duties and on-call rotations are expected.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related
• Minimum 5 years of experience in O&M for electrical/HVAC systems in large-scale facilities
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution and HVAC operating principles
• Experience with O&M processes and lifecycle management
• Proven ability to supervise outsourced vendors in high-availability environments
• Fluency in English; Chinese language skills are a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations, inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency response for critical facilities systems (electrical and mechanical)
• Oversee on-site operations to ensure high system availability and SLA compliance
• Develop and improve SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, maintenance plans and contingency procedures
• Serve as on-site technical lead for troubleshooting, incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
• Manage outsourced vendor teams to ensure safety, service quality, and discipline on site
• Coordinate with colocation operator on maintenance windows, access, compliance, and site issues
• Identify safety, fire protection, reliability, capacity and energy-efficiency risks and drive closures
• Analyze operations data to improve reliability and PUE metrics
• Provide technical support for site changes and readiness activities

Job description

• Lead daily operations, inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency response for critical facilities systems, including electrical infrastructure (HV/LV, UPS, batteries, generators) and/or mechanical systems (chillers, CRAH/CRAC, chilled water, pumps, BMS/BA).
• Ensure high system availability and service delivery in line with operational requirements and SLAs.
• Develop and improve SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, maintenance plans, and contingency procedures.
• Serve as the on-site technical lead for troubleshooting, incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Oversee outsourced vendor teams to ensure safe execution, service quality, and operational discipline on site.
• Serve as a key facilities interface with the colocation operator on day-to-day operations, coordinating maintenance windows, incidents, access arrangements, compliance-related matters, and other site operational issues within the facilities scope.
• Identify and manage risks related to safety, fire protection, reliability, capacity, and energy efficiency, and drive issue closure in line with local regulations and company standards.
• Analyze operational data to improve reliability, optimize system performance, and enhance efficiency metrics such as PUE.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in O&M or related projects for electrical or HVAC systems in large-scale data centers, mission-critical facilities, or industrial environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical power distribution systems and/or HVAC systems, including operating principles, controls, and fault diagnosis.
• Experience in equipment lifecycle management and O&M process development.
• Proven experience overseeing outsourced vendors or service partners in a high-availability environment.
• Strong risk identification, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Familiarity with tools such as BMS, EMS, CMMS, EPMS, or DCIM is a plus.
• Bilingual or multilingual proficiency is preferred, with proficiency in Chinese considered a strong advantage.
• This position requires working on-site at the data center during business days and participating in an on-call rotation to support critical facility operations and incident response as needed.
