Job summary

Amandari is seeking a passionate Commis to join the Culinary team in Bali. You will support daily preparation, maintain mise en place, and ensure high-quality food while upholding Aman hospitality standards.

Work closely with the Chef and team to deliver consistent service. The role demands flexibility for weekends, holidays, nights, and varied shifts in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Culinary education or equivalent professional kitchen experience.
• Previous experience in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or professional kitchen is an advantage.
• Food Safety and Hygiene Certification is preferred/required according to local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily food preparation and production as directed by the Chef or Sous Chef.
• Support the assigned kitchen section and ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.
• Prepare and maintain mise en place according to established standards.
• Follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and presentation standards.
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly prepared, and stored.
• Assist with the preparation and service of food for guests and colleagues.
• Accommodate guest dietary requirements and special requests with care and attention to detail.
• Label, date, cover, and store all food products properly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and kitchen areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Communicate effectively with the Chef, Sous Chef, and other Culinary team members regarding preparation, stock, and operational needs.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across different shifts to ensure consistency and smooth kitchen operations.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate the high standards of Aman hospitality.
• Respectful and sensitive to cultural diversity and hospitality standards.
