Job summary

Hilton Jakarta is seeking a Chief Engineer to manage the full engineering operations of the hotel’s systems, plant, and equipment. You will ensure budget efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance while delivering memorable guest experiences.

You will lead a high-performing engineering team, coordinate large-scale capital projects, and oversee maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems. Flexibility and on-call availability are essential in this 5-star environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or relevant certification.
• Strong engineering background with trade expertise in Electrical/Mechanical/Plumbing/Gas Fitting.
• Adapt to a flexible schedule; available 24/7 for emergencies.
• Specialized knowledge in HVAC, water treatment, hydraulics, chillers, electronics, lighting, elevators, fire safety, and related systems.
• Skilled in maintaining all hotel building services (security, A/C, plumbing, electrical, kitchen, laundry, lifts, TV/sound systems).
• Familiar with government regulations and technical standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead facility operations: direct functionality, safety, and compliance of buildings and systems.
• Oversee facility maintenance: supervise electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems.
• Support capital projects: scheduling, budgeting, contractor bidding, licensing/permitting.
• Oversee work order fulfillment: ensure maintenance tasks are tracked in the CMMS.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with permits and inspections.
• Cultivate a high-performing team through performance management and development.
• Foster communication between Engineering and other hotel areas.
• Maintain high guest service focus and protect guest privacy.
• Drive sustainability and efficiency through asset management and building systems.
