Job summary

PT SHORT HILLS INDONESIA is seeking a motivated Business Development professional to drive growth in the chemical sector. You will identify opportunities, build strong client relationships, and present chemical raw material solutions to customers.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in BD or related roles, a chemistry background, and excellent communication and negotiation skills. Fluency in English is required; Mandarin is a strong plus. Jakarta-based role with travel to customers as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Business Development, Sales, Marketing, or related role.
• Experience in chemical industry or chemical raw material distribution is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of chemical products and their applications is a plus.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with customers.
• Proactive, target-oriented, and skilled at identifying new opportunities.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Willing to conduct customer visits when required.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Mandarin is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities and potential customers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
• Understand customer needs and recommend suitable chemical raw material products.
• Present products and solutions to customers and conduct negotiations.
• Follow up on sales opportunities and achieve targets.
• Conduct market research and monitor industry trends and competitors.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Prepare regular reports on sales activities and business opportunities.
