PT Pop Properti Indonesia seeks a Building Maintenance Assistant Manager in Balikpapan Kota, East Kalimantan. You will oversee maintenance and engineering operations across retail and property development projects, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-efficient building systems and facilities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field and at least 5 years of experience in building maintenance or property management.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in building maintenance, engineering, mall operations, property management, or commercial building management.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, building utilities and maintenance practices.

About the role

We are seeking a Building Maintenance Assistant Manager to join our team in Balikpapan Kota, East Kalimantan. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing building maintenance and engineering operations across our retail and property development projects. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all building systems, facilities, and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, while maintaining service standards and compliance with applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities

Lead and oversee building maintenance and engineering activities to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient property operations.

Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for building systems, equipment, and facilities.

Oversee the operation and maintenance of MEP systems, utilities, and other building infrastructure.

Manage contractor and vendor relationships, including scheduling, performance monitoring, service quality, and contract compliance.

Conduct regular site inspections to identify maintenance issues, potential risks, and improvement opportunities.

Monitor maintenance budgets, operational expenses, and resource utilisation to ensure effective cost management.

Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth maintenance and engineering operations.

Prepare maintenance reports, evaluate equipment and operational performance, and provide recommendations to management.

Identify and resolve technical and operational issues in a timely manner to minimise disruption to property operations.

Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable building regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in building maintenance, engineering, mall operations, property management, or commercial building management.

Strong knowledge of MEP systems, building utilities, maintenance practices, and engineering operations.

Proven experience managing preventive and corrective maintenance programs.

Proven experience leading a team and managing contractors, vendors, consultants, and multiple stakeholders.

Knowledge of Indonesian building regulations, safety standards, and property operational requirements.

Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple maintenance activities simultaneously.

Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical and operational issues.

Willing to be based in Balikpapan.
