Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Jakarta is seeking a Commis de Cuisine Bakery to join our culinary team. Based at Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, the role supports senior pastry chefs and assists in daily bakery operations, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency across the station.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of bakery experience, strong knowledge of gastronomy, and good English communication. The position offers growth within MOHG’s luxury teams, with comprehensive development and benefits.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent; two-year degree or apprenticeship.
Minimum 1 year experience as Commis de Cuisine – Bakery, preferably in hospitality.
Fluent English language, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Daily Operational: Supervise the Bakery station, oversee trainees, prepare menus with quality ingredients, manage opening/closing procedures.
Productivity: Organize cost-effective production, identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising service.
Safe and Sound (HACCP): Ensure MOHG health and safety and HACCP standards, support audits.
People: Supervise kitchen trainees, develop skills in food prep and presentation, communicate effectively.
