APRIL is seeking an Automation Technician to maintain and optimize automation and instrumentation systems in the Paper Machine or Board Machine areas. The role focuses on preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting Valmet DNA DCS, PLCs, field instruments, sensors, and control valves to ensure stable operations.

• Degree in electrical engineering, instrumentation, automation, or mechatronics.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Automation Technician in a Paper Machine or Board Machine environment.
• Hands-on experience with Valmet DNA DCS is required.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation, instrumentation, and process control systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automation and instrumentation systems in the Paper Machine or Board Machine area.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Valmet DNA DCS, PLC, field instruments, sensors, transmitters, actuators, and control valves.
• Maintain and optimize the performance and reliability of the Valmet DNA DCS to support stable plant operations.
• Calibrate, inspect, and maintain instrumentation devices to ensure accurate process measurement and control.
• Analyze automation and control system failures, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Support process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and production efficiency.
• Collaborate with Production, Mechanical, and Electrical teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.
• Maintain automation documentation, maintenance records, and ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

• Experienced in troubleshooting DCS, PLC, field instruments, control valves, transmitters, and sensors.
• Familiar with preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
• Able to read and interpret P&IDs, control logic diagrams, loop diagrams, and electrical/instrumentation drawings.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Willing to work in a manufacturing environment and support breakdown maintenance activities when required.
