Job summary

Valmet seeks a high-impact sales leader to head the automation sales team in the Asia Pacific region, based in Jakarta, Indonesia. You will own a customer base, build relationships with key accounts, and drive the closure of automation system projects (DCS, QCS, Analyzers) across territory.

You will collaborate with global experts, develop marketing plans, and foster a results-driven culture to win in the pulp and paper market.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leading sales teams to targets.
  • Experience creating and selling profitable automation solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of pulp and paper processes and customer drivers.
  • Understanding of commercial terms / contracts is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead in a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent English communication and presentation skills.

Job description

Do you have a passion for providing customers with solutions? In this position, you will lead and develop the automation sales team to build the best Pulp & Paper industry sales capability in the Asia Pacific region as well as have your own customer base to serve. You also play a key role in building and maintaining solid working relationships with our key customers. The goal is to clearly understand the needs and concerns of customers and how Valmet can partner with them to ensure the right automation solutions at the right time. This requires a firm grasp of the sales process and a willingness to work cooperatively with our key customers, and internally with our experts, to ensure the highest levels of service. In this challenging role, you have the responsibility for selling/closing contracts for new automation systems (DCS, QCS, Analyzers/measurements) investment projects, upgrades, rebuilds within your specified territory & customer base.

Responsibilities
  • Drive day‑to‑day sales activities with your team and ensure customer success through impactful sales and marketing plans.
  • Foster a results-driven culture that enables the team to compete and win in the Pulp & Paper market.
  • Promote and sell Valmet automation solution within assigned territory and customer base.
  • Visit customers proactively to identify customer needs, generate leads and close the deals.
  • Stay actively involved with assigned region to fully understand and analyze the market for growth.
  • Prepare technical proposals, solutions to customers together with support from global / area / country organization.
  • Provide regular updates on sales, projections, bookings, proposal activities, costs and other related customer activities.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and fulfillment of Valmet’s core commitments to customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree
  • Proven track record of leading sales team to reach set targets.
  • Proven ability in creating & selling profitable solutions, including achieving results in high pressure situations.
  • Good knowledge of pulp and paper processes and customer drivers gained by 10+ years of experience in working with pulp & paper industry.
  • Good experience and knowledge of commercial terms / contracts is a plus.
  • Good interpersonal skills, leadership capability to lead and work in a (virtual) team even in multicultural / matrixed organization.
  • Good communication skills in English, as well as presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
