Job summary

APRIL is seeking an Instrument Technician to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control systems in a major power plant in Indonesia. Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, process control, and plant automation systems.
  • Hands-on experience with calibration and maintenance of transmitters, control valves, analyzers, sensors, and field instrumentation.
  • Able to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument drawings, and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control systems in the Power Plant.
  • Inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain field instruments, including pressure, temperature, flow, level transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and switches.
  • Diagnose and resolve instrumentation and control system failures to ensure safe and reliable plant operation.
  • Support maintenance activities for Distributed Control System (DCS), PLC, and other plant control systems.
  • Perform loop checking, instrument calibration, and functional testing following maintenance procedures and engineering standards.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument hook-up drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Mechanical, and Electrical teams to minimize equipment downtime and improve plant reliability.
  • Maintain maintenance records and ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and company procedures.

Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Instrument Technician in a Coal-Fired Power Plant, Biomass Power Plant, Combined Cycle Power Plant, or other utility/industrial power plants.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, process control, and plant automation systems.
  • Hands-on experience with calibration and maintenance of transmitters, control valves, analyzers, sensors, and field instrumentation.
  • Familiar with DCS, PLC, and industrial communication systems.
  • Able to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with ABB, Yokogawa, Emerson, Siemens, Honeywell, or Valmet DCS will be an advantage.
  • Willing to be based in Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan Regency, Riau, Indonesia.
