Position: Assistant Restaurant Manager
Client: The Cakap Group
Location: Bali, Indonesia
Department: Food and Beverage Services
Reports To: Restaurant and Bar Manager
The Cakap Group (TCG) is a licensed hospitality management and restaurant consulting company in Indonesia with an 11-year history of success. We design, launch, and manage a diverse portfolio of prestigious projects, ranging from boutique hotels and luxury resorts to restaurants and luxury yachts. With over 150 successful projects and 800+ employees recruited, we offer a stable, dynamic, and internationally standardized working environment. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists, supported by our state-of-the-art Research & Development (R&D) kitchen and modern training facilities in Bali. Join us to accelerate your career and be part of an exceptional team that transforms ambitious visions into world-class hospitality experiences.
The Cakap Group provides end-to-end restaurant and bar consulting to hospitality clients across Indonesia — including SOP development, pre-opening project management, and training for kitchen and service teams. We are looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to support our Restaurant and Bar Manager in delivering these services on the ground, with a strong focus on training, SOP implementation, and building service standards within our clients' teams.
This is a hands-on, training-driven role suited to a hospitality professional who enjoys developing people as much as running a floor. Beyond day-to-day operational support, you will spend significant time designing and delivering SOP training, coaching client teams, and embedding service standards — while also stepping in to support live operations, guest experience, and shift management when needed.
As an Assistant Restaurant Manager at The Cakap Group, your core contribution is training and standards implementation — delivering SOP training, service simulations, and coaching to our clients' restaurant and bar teams during pre-opening and stabilization phases. Working closely with the Restaurant and Bar Manager, you will help translate TCG's operational standards into a client's day-to-day service reality, while also supporting daily operations, guest experience, and team performance across the projects you're assigned to.
Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining restaurant SOPs, service standards, checklists, and operational procedures.
Conduct staff training, service simulations, briefings, and operational trials to ensure team readiness before opening.
Monitor team performance during training and identify areas requiring further coaching or improvement.
Support recruitment, selection, onboarding, and training of the restaurant service team.
Support the Restaurant and Bar Manager in planning and executing the restaurant pre-opening activities.
Assist in establishing service sequences, guest journey standards, table settings, opening/closing procedures, and service workflows.
Coordinate with kitchen, bar, purchasing, and other project teams to ensure smooth operational preparation.
Support the preparation of menus, service equipment, operating supplies, uniforms, and other front-of-house requirements.
Assist with POS, reservation, payment, and other operational system setup and testing.
Participate in mock services, soft openings, trial runs, and opening preparations.
Ensure the restaurant's service areas, guest spaces, equipment, and operational setup meet the required standards before opening.
Support the Restaurant and Bar Manager in monitoring project progress, identifying operational gaps, and implementing corrective actions.
Assist with inventory, stock control, purchasing coordination, and preparation of operating supplies.
Support the client after opening during the initial stabilization period, including service quality, team performance, guest feedback, and operational improvements.
Prepare reports and provide regular updates on pre-opening progress, operational readiness, and key issues.
Represent The Cakap Group professionally when working with clients, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
Minimum 3 years of experience in restaurant, food and beverage, hotel, resort, or hospitality operations, ideally as an Assistant Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, or Captain.
Proven experience training, coaching, and developing service teams, with confidence delivering SOP training, briefings, and service simulations to build team readiness.
Strong understanding of restaurant operations, service standards, and SOPs, including POS systems, reservations, and operational controls.
Strong organizational and coordination skills, comfortable managing multiple tasks in a project-based, multi-client environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work confidently with clients, consultants, suppliers, and hospitality teams.
Professional, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused, with a good command of English, both written and spoken.
Flexible to work extended hours, weekends, and public holidays, particularly during the pre-opening and opening period.
Pre-opening experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality project.
Background or interest in hospitality training, facilitation, or consulting work.
Exposure to multi-brand or multi-client environments, such as agency, consulting, or group-operator settings.
Adaptable and comfortable representing a consulting company's standards across different client cultures and teams.
