PT. REA KALTIM PLANTATIONS is seeking an experienced and analytical R&D Agronomy professional to support the development and implementation of agronomy practices within oil palm plantations.
You will conduct research, analyze field and soil data, and develop practical recommendations for continuous improvement. You will prepare fertilization recommendations, provide technical input and training, and communicate findings through reports and presentations.
We are looking for an experienced and analytical R&D Agronomy professional to support the development and implementation of agronomy practices within oil palm plantations. This role will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing field and soil data, developing practical recommendations, and supporting continuous improvement in plantation operations in line with corporate policies and best management practices.
Conduct research and analysis in agronomy, soil survey, agro-services, plant protection and research data management to support corporate policies and plantation performance.
Prepare LSU/SSU for fertilization recommendations and monitor fertilizer application to ensure compliance with established standards and guidelines.
Provide technical input, training and recommendations related to oil palm agronomy, soil management, plant health and pest and disease management.
Prepare comprehensive research reports, technical analyses, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
Provide technical advice to Estate Operations on the implementation of research activities and recommend improvements based on research findings.
Support the development and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to Agronomy policies based on field observations, analysis, and research results.
Support the implementation of Research Training, Practical Best Management Practices (BMP), and the application of R&D research findings across plantation operations.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure research findings are effectively translated into practical and measurable improvements in the field.
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in R&D within the oil palm plantation industry.
Solid experience in research activities and research methodologies, preferably in plantation environments.
Good understanding of statistics and its practical application in oil palm plantation research and analysis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and operational teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and capable of working with data for analysis and reporting.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
The REA group is principally engaged in the cultivation of oil palms at East Kalimantan, and in the production and sale of crude palm oil (CPO) and crude palm kernel oil (CPKO). The group’s principal operating subsidiary, PT REA Kaltim Plantations (REA Kaltim), manages oil palm plantations in Belayan Ulu, a remote area on either side of the Belayan River, a tributary of the Mahakam River in East Kalimantan. Some 18,000 hectares (over 26% of REA’s titled land bank) are designated as conservation reserves. The group has two methane capture facilities that generate electricity for the majority of its operations and employee housing, as well as supplying power to the villages.
