Job summary

PT Dharma Satya Nusantara, Tbk (DSN Group) is seeking a field-oriented Soil/ Agronomy Specialist to support research programs across palm oil plantations in East Kalimantan. You will conduct field trials, collect data, and help implement BMPs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Soil Science, at least two years’ experience, proficiency in Excel, strong analytical skills, and willingness to travel to estate sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Soil Science or related field.
• 2+ years experience in plantation/research is preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking and data interpretation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data processing and reporting.
• Willing to travel to plantation sites in East Kalimantan.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field trials related to progeny, fertilization, crop management, pest & disease control, and yield improvement.
• Monitor and evaluate agronomy practices in estate areas (e.g., manuring, pruning, harvesting standard).
• Collect, validate, and analyze agronomic and operational data from the field.
• Support development and implementation of best management practices (BMP) across estates.
• Coordinate with estate teams to ensure proper execution of research trials and agronomy programs.
• Prepare periodic reports, analysis, and recommendations based on field findings.
• Assist in soil, leaf, and crop sampling activities (including basic interpretation).
• Support sustainability initiatives (e.g., efficient fertilizer use, soil health, environmental practices).
• Stay updated with latest agronomy research and innovations relevant to palm oil plantations.

Responsible for supporting research and agronomy programs to improve plantation productivity, crop quality, and sustainability practices. This role involves both field activities (data collection, trial monitoring) and analytical work (data processing, reporting, and recommendations).

Key Responsibilities

Job Requirements

• Strong interest in fieldwork and willingness to travel to plantation sites
• Good analytical thinking and data interpretation skills
• Basic understanding of oil palm agronomy practices
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (data processing & reporting)
• Good communication and coordination skills with field teams
• High initiative, curiosity, and continuous learning mindset
• Willing to be placed in East Kalimantan
