Job summary

PT BAMBINI KARYA MAKMUR is a growing retailer in kids fashion undergoing an accounting transformation. We are seeking an Accounting Manager to build a structured accounting and reporting framework and to lead the transition to a new accounting system.

This hands-on role requires strong fundamentals and the ability to improve AP, AR, inventory, and closing processes, working with management, internal teams and external consultants to drive change and better controls.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of relevant accounting experience, with 2–3 years at supervisor/manager level
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or a related field
• Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle and financial statement preparation
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Experience reviewing or developing Chart of Accounts and accounting processes
• Experience working with accounting systems and participating in process/system implementation
• Strong Excel / analytical skills
• Experience in retail, fashion, FMCG, e-commerce, distribution or inventory-heavy businesses is a plus
• Familiarity with Indonesian PSAK / SAK
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end accounting cycle and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Lead and improve the monthly closing and reconciliation process
• Prepare and/or review monthly financial statements and key accounting schedules
• Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for AP, AR, inventory, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments and other key transactions
• Strengthen the company's accounting processes
• Review and improve historical accounting records and opening balances where required
• Establish practical accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
• Identify gaps and inefficiencies in current accounting processes and implement improvements
• Work with relevant business teams to ensure operational processes are reflected in the accounting records
• Act as the accounting SME for the implementation of the new accounting system
• Review system design and accounting flows from an accounting perspective
• Participate in data migration, UAT, implementation and go-live activities
• Ensure the new system supports accurate accounting, reporting and controls
• Establish appropriate accounting processes for retail and inventory activities
• Collaborate with Operations, Merchandising and Supply Chain teams on inventory-related accounting
• Ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of inventory, sales, returns, discounts and COGS
• Coordinate the accounting workstream for external audits and provide supporting schedules
• Ensure financial statements and practices comply with PSAK/SAK
• Work with external tax advisors as needed
• Lead and develop the accounting team as the function grows
• Establish responsibilities, processes and standards within the team
• Coach the team for accuracy, discipline and timely closing
• Has strong fundamentals and sound accounting judgement
• Can translate existing processes into structured, system-driven approaches
• Can work with external consultants while retaining ownership of accounting decisions
• Is hands-on, analytical and comfortable building structure in a evolving organisation

We are a growing retail group in the kids' fashion industry undergoing a transformation of our accounting processes and systems.

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to help build a stronger accounting foundation for the business, including system and process transition toward a more structured accounting and reporting framework.

The role will also play a key part in the implementation of a new accounting system, working closely with management, internal teams and external implementation consultants.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who has strong accounting fundamentals, understands how accounting should work in a growing business, and enjoys building and improving processes rather than simply maintaining an existing system.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end accounting cycle and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Lead and improve the monthly closing and reconciliation process.
• Prepare and/or review monthly financial statements and key accounting schedules.

Accounting Structure & Process Improvement

• Review and refine the Chart of Accounts and overall accounting structure to support the company's growth and reporting requirements.
• Establish practical accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Identify gaps and inefficiencies in current accounting processes and implement improvements.
• Work with relevant business teams to ensure operational processes are appropriately reflected in the accounting records.

Accounting System Transformation

• Act as the accounting subject matter owner for the implementation of the new accounting system.
• Work with external consultants' / system providers to translate accounting requirements into appropriate system processes and workflows.
• Review system design and accounting flows from an accounting perspective.
• Participate in data migration, UAT, implementation and go‑live activities.
• Ensure the new system supports accurate accounting, reporting and appropriate controls.

Retail & Inventory Accounting

• Establish appropriate accounting processes for the group's retail and inventory activities.
• Work with Operations, Merchandising and Supply Chain teams on inventory-related accounting.
• Ensure appropriate accounting and reconciliation of inventory, sales, returns, discounts and cost of goods sold.

Audit & Compliance

• Coordinate the accounting workstream for external audits and provide supporting schedules and documentation.
• Ensure financial statements and accounting practices comply with applicable Indonesian accounting standards (PSAK / SAK).
• Work with external tax advisors / relevant teams where accounting support is required.

Team

• Lead and develop the accounting team as the function grows.
• Establish clear responsibilities, processes and standards within the accounting function.
• Review and coach the team to ensure accuracy, discipline and timely closing.

What We Are Looking For

• 7–10 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years at Accounting Supervisor / Assistant Manager / Manager level. Candidates with strong relevant experience may be considered regardless of exact years of experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or a related field.
