Job summary

KAP Drs. Paul Hadiwinata, Hidajat, Arsono, Retno, Palilingan & Rekan is seeking an experienced Accounting Services Manager to lead client engagements, manage relationships, and develop our people in a dynamic accounting practice.

You will oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, apply Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards, and drive service improvements across engagements with multinational and local clients.

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Accounting Services Manager to join and help strengthen our Accounting Services practice.

This is more than a financial reporting or accounting review role. As an Accounting Services Manager, you will be responsible for leading client engagements, managing client relationships, developing our people, solving accounting and financial reporting issues, and continuously improving how we deliver our services.

You will work with a diverse portfolio of corporate clients across a range of industries and business models. You will have the opportunity to understand how businesses operate, provide practical accounting and reporting solutions, and work closely with management, auditors, tax advisors, and other professional advisers.

The successful candidate will also contribute to the continued development of our Accounting Services practice by improving methodologies, developing service capabilities, leveraging technology, and identifying opportunities to create greater value for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and review the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

Review accounting records, general ledgers, trial balances, reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by the accounting team.

Review financial statements prepared in accordance with Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards (SAK) and applicable regulatory requirements.

Assist clients with group reporting, consolidation packages, and other financial reporting requirements, including reporting to overseas headquarters where applicable.

Analyse accounting and financial reporting issues and provide practical solutions to clients.

Provide accounting and financial reporting advice on transactions, accounting treatments, and other matters encountered by clients.

Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of client deliverables.

Serve as a trusted point of contact for assigned clients and develop strong, long-term professional relationships.

Understand clients' businesses, financial reporting requirements, accounting processes, and operational challenges.

Proactively identify opportunities to improve clients' accounting and reporting processes.

Communicate accounting matters and recommendations clearly to client management, both verbally and in writing.

Coordinate effectively with external auditors, tax advisers, regulators, and other professional advisers.

Manage client expectations, deliverables, timelines, and service quality.

Contribute to proposals and presentations for prospective and existing clients.

Lead, supervise, and develop accounting professionals across different levels of experience.

Review team members' work and provide constructive feedback and coaching.

Plan engagement resources and allocate work effectively to meet client requirements, deadlines, and budgets.

Develop the technical and professional capabilities of team members through on-the-job coaching, training, and mentoring.

4. Practice & Process Development

Develop and standardise accounting methodologies, processes, and working procedures.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency in service delivery.

Evaluate and implement appropriate technology, automation, and digital tools to improve accounting processes and client service.

Monitor engagement performance, resource utilisation, budgets, and service quality.

Contribute to the development of new accounting services and solutions based on evolving client needs.

Support the growth of the Accounting Services practice through client development, proposals, referrals, and cross-selling opportunities.

Ensure that all engagements comply with the firm's policies and procedures and applicable professional and regulatory requirements.

Adhere to the firm's quality management, risk management, independence, confidentiality, and ethical requirements.

Maintain appropriate documentation and ensure that client work meets the firm's quality standards.

Promote a strong quality culture within the Accounting Services team.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an accounting professional who combines technical competence with leadership, commercial awareness, and strong client-management skills.

You should have:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

Ideally 5–8 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, accounting services, professional services, or a similar environment.

Strong knowledge of Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards (SAK) and relevant accounting and corporate regulations.

Demonstrated experience in reviewing financial statements and managing accounting engagements.

Experience supervising or managing accounting professionals and developing team members.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical accounting matters into practical business solutions.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to interact with client management, auditors, and other senior stakeholders.

Strong project and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities effectively.

Good spoken and written English, particularly for communicating with multinational clients and overseas stakeholders.

A proactive, self-driven, and solution-oriented mindset.

Strong commitment to professionalism, integrity, quality, and client service.

Professional accounting qualifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent will be highly regarded.
