Job summary

OCBC Bank (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking a Vice President, Data Engineering to lead the design and evolution of enterprise-scale data platforms. You will drive analytics, AI, regulatory reporting, and digital transformation initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders across the bank.

You will oversee data pipelines, platform performance, and governance while mentoring a high-performing team of data engineers to deliver scalable, reliable data solutions aligned with strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Data Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years in Data Engineering or Big Data with leadership/architecture experience.
• Extensive experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms and data integration.
• Proficiency with Hadoop ecosystem and Spark for large-scale processing.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategic roadmap for the enterprise data platform.
• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Lead architecture and optimization of distributed data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Data Lake).
• Establish and govern data engineering standards: quality, lineage, observability, monitoring.
• Partner with business, analytics, data science, and apps teams to translate requirements.
• Drive DataOps, CI/CD, IaC, automated testing and release management.
